About me
And so to the ubiquitous about me/about the site page..
James Wragg is 30, lives in Brighton, UK with Jackie, a beautiful and brilliant Hatha Yoga teacher. My background is Microsoft based infrastructure, but I got bored and always being more interested with what was happening with the web, I taught myself all I could and made the leap late 2006.
Now, I work for Madgex as a Front-End Designer/Developer which is excellent. Loving the company, people and work. All in all, one of my better career moves.
What’s with this site?
Well, it’s currently a simple flag in the ground, a personal playground site, not really serving any real purpose other than being a home for any web-based creativity I feel the urge to exercise. And I wanted the domain.
My Background
I’m originally from Ipswich, Suffolk. Not a bad place to grow up that’s for sure, but after travelling with Jackie for 13 months during 2002-2003 we decided that Ipswich didn’t really offer anything for us, a change was needed, so with my sister already being in the area we decided to head to the so called ‘London by the sea’, Brighton. And I have to say it’s one of the best decisions we’ve made. Costs a bloody fortune to stay here, but it’s worth it I reckon.
The Site
The site was designed by myself in Photoshop, the background image on the right was taken by myself whilst having a stroll over at the Long Man of Wilmington. Lovely spot over there, but baffled all the boffins it seems.. The xhtml/css has been hand-coded using Notepad++, with web standards in mind. I entirely subscribe to the idea of the Web being an accessible open medium , and have marked up with microformats where possible.
