Hello, my name is James.
I'm a Web & Mobile developer based in Brighton, UK.
I intend to write up some of these projects a little more in the future, but in the meantime here’s just a handful of some of the projects I've been working on:
-
Now Playing on BBC 6 Music
Realtime photo/bio/lastfm/spotify info on whatever is playing on BBC 6Music. I built a backend aggregator to poll Last.fm, Spotify etc. which provides a JSON endpoint. Presented in a responsively designed wall of tracks that can be flipped over to read more on the artist. Tech used: PHP, Pagespeed, HTML5, Responsive design, CSS3 Transitions & Animations, Social buttons.
-
TrueBlueVoice
A small, responsive website to support a new range of products launched in Asia. Includes integration with MailChimp mailing lists via pages scanned vi QR codes. Tech used: HTML5, CSS3 Transitions, Modernizr, Webfonts, Twitter integration
-
Great Escape 2011 – HTML5 Mobile WebApp
An offline–able guide to the Great Escape festival in Brighton. Running round Brighton for 3 days, 300+ acts can get a bit tiring, this app helped research the acts, see how popular their set may be & where's the closes venue. Tech used: CodeIgniter PHP framework, MySQL, HTML5 localStorage, App cache, Geolocation, CSS3 gradients, SimpleGeo.
-
genManifest Bookmarklet
Get a helping hand to you get started with building offline apps by suggesting which files should go in your cache manifest.
-
Cello Tuner for iPhone & iPod
A simple iOS app to help tune your cello. Built using Titanium.
-
Great Escape 2010 – iCal schedule
An iCal schedule that you could subscribe to, included all gigs & venues for the GreatEscape. Tech used: CodeIgniter PHP framework.
-
Duke of Yorks mobile friendly site
Essentially iOS based (although known to work fine other platforms) mobile schedule for England’s oldest & best cinema. Tech used: CodeIgniter PHP framework, jQTouch.
